Megumi Ishibashi
Lives and works in Tokyo. Since graduating from Joshibi College of Art & Design in 1996, Megumi Ishibashi has been working with a variety of media to create colourful figurative objects which often populate her installations. Her practice is concerned with making visible the intangible, feelings such as hope, wish, sadness and fear based on her own experience and memories.
She has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in art galleries and museums, outdoor spaces and department stores, as well as taking part in artist in residence programmes both in Japan and abroad. She has also worked in collaboration with businesses to exhibit works in public spaces and has facilitated numerous workshops including in Paris, as she worked on an art project in a hospital there.
In 2009, she was awarded the 10th Fumiko Omura Foundation, Paris Award and stayed in Paris for a year.
